SCHOHARIE, N.Y. - Schoharie Central Schools are one of twelve schools competing to win a part of one million dollars worth of technology in a contest offered by electronics company Samsung.
The Schoharie Central School District is still recovering after being devastated by Tropical Storm Irene just over six months ago, and are hoping to be one of five schools to win a part of the one million dollars worth of technology from the "Samsung Solve for Tomorrow" contest to aid in their rebuilding process.
Four grand prize winners will be named, as well as a "People's Choice" winner selected by the most votes received.
Over 1,500 schools from across the country entered the contest, and Schoharie has made it to the final 12.
