ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Two F-15 fighter jets based in Massachusetts are set to practice over northeastern New York as part of an alert exercise.
New York military officials say the fighters from the Massachusetts Air National Guard's 104th Fighter Wing in Westfield are scheduled to practice aerial interceptions over Glens Falls and Ticonderoga between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Civil Air Patrol will fly small civilian aircraft to act as targets for the interceptor jets.
The exercises train the pilots for reacting to airspace violations, hijackings and unknown aircraft.
