MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont's top voting official says he's expecting voter turnout in the state's Super Tuesday presidential primary to be somewhere in between the last two primaries.
Secretary of State Jim Condos says that in 2008, 47 percent of voters cast ballots in the presidential primary. But that year had contested primary races in both the Democratic and Republican primaries.
In 2004, when President George W. Bush was seeking re-election, the turnout was 28 percent.
But Tuesday is also Vermont's Town Meeting Day.
Among the other issues being decided across the state will be the Burlington mayoral race. Democrat Miro Weinberger, Republican Kurt Wright and independent Wanda Hines are vying to succeed Progressive Mayor Bob Kiss, who did not seek re-election.
