COXSACKIE, NY - A father and daughter from Massachusetts were arrested for allegedly having drug laced candy after a traffic stop in Coxsackie on Monday.
State police say troopers stopped their vehicle at 11:23 a.m. on the New York State Thruway for a traffic violation. After stopping the vehicle they supposedly found over a pound of marijuana and approximately 40 pounds of hard candy that were laced with concentrated cannabis. The candy pieces were packaged in bags by flavor such as butter rum, cherry, coffee, guava, orange, pomegranate, root beet, and sour apple.
The driver of the vehicle 48-year-old Gary Fox was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd-Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th-Degree. His daughter 24-year-old Kayla Fox, 24 was a passenger in the car and was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th-Degree.
Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and remanded to the Greene County Correctional Facility on $15,000 bail.
