ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is announcing new legislation to address unfair foreign trade practices. Gillibrand will visit a United Auto Workers hall in Rochester Monday morning to discuss the legislation and call on the president to take action on China's trade practices against auto part manufacturers.
She says China's harmful trade practices include limiting U.S. exports to the Chinese market and subsidizing Chinese manufacturers' exports to strengthen their competitive position.
Gillibrand will discuss the issue Monday afternoon at appearances in Buffalo and Syracuse. She says nearly 30,000 New Yorkers are employed in the automotive sector.
