SHEFFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Police say one person was killed and at least three others were taken to hospitals after a five-vehicle crash in the Berkshires.
Sheffield Police Chief James McGarry says that at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday a pick-up truck traveling north on Route 7 collided with four other vehicles.
He tells The Berkshire Eagle that a local woman in one of the vehicles was killed.
Three other people were initially transported to Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington, and later transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. The chief says one person may have been sent to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
No names were immediately released.
The cause is being investigated and no charges have been filed.
