GLENS FALLS, NY
- The Tech Meadows Industrial Park set to be built in Glens Falls brings a push to keep tech jobs
in the Capital Region.
There are many tech opportunities for workers in the area with companies
such as GE and GlobalFoundries. These jobs that people are training for are
going to provide a launching pad for more high tech work throughout the area.
The Tech Meadows Industrial Park's
land is currently vacant, but in a couple months ground will break. There are 49 acres of land ready to be developed after Senator Schumer
secured $750,000 for water and sewer infrastructure for this future site.
Glens Falls Mayor Jack Diamond says the first lot of the park will be Local Plumbers
& Steamfitters Union 773, which will train workers specifically for jobs
that are in demand.
Mayor Diamond says he hopes that Glens Falls will become more appealing for businesses to come to by training workers right in the city.
The onsite training provided will help job seekers qualify for more tech
jobs in the area.
