
TROY, NY - Roads are back open in Troy after a house fire on Monday evening.
Troy police say a house fire happened at 561 Congress Street around 6:00 p.m.. Pawling Avenue to Brunswick Road was closed for some time while fire crews were on the scene.
Chief Tom Garrett tells NEWS10 ABC heavy fire was coming from the roof and the windows in the attic when they arrived. Fire crews used the tower ladder to knock down the flames and the back steps to get up and extinguish the fire. He says there is heavy damage to the roof and attic. There is also smoke and water damage to the second floor which is repairable.
