MILTON, NY - A six-year-old boy has died in a car accident in Milton on Saturday night.
The accident happened at approximately 11:00 p.m. on State Route 29 at the intersection of Murray Road.
Police say a 2008 Mercury being operated by Scott McIntyre, 34, of Rensselaer, was traveling southeast on Murray Road and failed to yield the right of way at the intersection. McIntyre's vehicle collided with a 2003 Chevrolet traveling westbound being operated by Thomas Stuart, 21, of Johnstown.
All six individuals involved were transported to Saratoga Hospital.
McIntyre's six-year-old son Tyler was pronounced dead at approximately 2:09 a.m. from injures suffered in the crash. The five other involved individuals were treated for various non-life threatening injuries.
State Police Lt. Rob Poisson says the child was buckled in a child safety seat.
Police say the initial investigation does not reveal any indication of alcohol or speed involvement. Lt. Poisson says it appears that the driver was not paying attention and failed to yield at the sign, however the investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
