TROY, NY - After extensive damage from a fire in January, the Flavour Café & Lounge in Troy has been a target of thieves.
The owner of the Flavour Café & Lounge Charlie Staats says thieves have broken in and stolen thousands of dollars in goods. Staats says he's trying to stay positive, but admits its been tough. He has been waiting for police to wrap up the fire investigation, but now also for officers to locate who's responsible for breaking in.
Staats says he hasn't been able to repair the Fourth Street business because fire investigators have labeled it suspicious.
As a small business owner, Staats says its been tough. Trying times have been made more challenging since thieves have broken in three times since the fire.
Staats says he will have to push back the reopening of the business, but after seven years at this location he doesn't plan on going anywhere.
Troy police say they're still investigating whether or not this fire is suspicious and that investigations like this can take months. They're asking anyone with information on the fire or the breaks-in to contact them.
