One of the last remaining Tuskegee Airmen in the United States passed away Friday at the age of 91 and he lived in Saratoga Springs.
Clarence Dart flew 95 missions during his time with the Tuskegee Airmen. He had been suffering some major health issues during the past few weeks following a stroke.
According to his family one of the last things he did before the stroke was see the movie "Red Tails." It's about the history of the Tuskegee Airmen. His daughter told News 10 on the phone that he was very proud of it.
People at Madison Theater Friday night said they didn't know Dart personally, but following the movie they at least understood him a little bit better.
"I'm surprised we had such an individual living in our community and I'm proud that we do, or did," said Dennis Murray.
"From what I saw in the movie I loved it, it was great, and may the guy rest in peace," said Rick Voorhaar.
