AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – Two teenagers have been arrested following an investigation of a burglary incident in Amsterdam.
The Amsterdam Police Department received a complaint of burglary on Coolidge Road in the City of Amsterdam on February 1st, 2012.
The victims stated that a safe containing an undetermined large amount of cash was removed from their residence sometime during the day.
Detectives responded to the scene and were able to process evidence that was left behind.
Following this collection of evidence, numerous interviews were conducted which eventually lead to the identification of two male suspects.
James Whitehead, 18 of Amsterdam, was arrested on February 10th and charged with Conspiracy in the 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Whitehead was the accomplice in the burglary of the residence and was issued an appearance ticket for Amsterdam City Court at a later date.
Tyler Altieri, 16, of Amsterdam, was arrested on February 15th and charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony; and Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.
Altieri was held for arraignment in Amsterdam City Court.
