Sex offender charged with possession of child porn

PALATINE, N.Y. - A Montgomery County sex offender is due in court on Monday for having child pornography on his phone.

Police say 46-year-old Robert Evens had numerous pictures of child pornography. He is charged with Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child and will answer to that charge in the Town of Palatine Court.

Evens is a Level 2 Sex Offender based on a 1996 conviction for 1st-degree Rape. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $5,000 bail.
