BETHLEHEM, NY - The Bethlehem Police Department arrested a Selkirk man after he disseminated indecent material to a minor.
Police say the investigation began when the mother of a 16-year-old girl contact police over concerning text messages her daughter was receiving. The text messages were adult in nature and eventually led to inviting and inducing the minor to engage in sexual contact with him.
Brooks was charged with Attempted Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the 1st degree, a Felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Attempted Endangering Welfare of a Child, and Attempted Rape in the 3rd degree, all Misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lie of $10,000 cash/bond bail. He is scheduled to return to Bethlehem Town Court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
