Vt. teacher pleads not guilty to having child porn

BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A fifth-grade teacher in Vermont has pleaded not guilty to possessing child pornography on his computer.

Thirty-four-year-old John Dockum of Bennington was charged last month. He was suspended from Monument Elementary in October after an investigation was launched.

The Bennington Banner reports the investigation began last year after Dockum's wife found images of young girls on Dockum's home computer. Police said a subsequent search of Dockum's school-issued laptop also turned up images of young girls.

John Dockum's lawyer said files found on Dockum's school computer appear to be deleted ones found in the computer's temporary Internet cache, and there's no evidence Dockum downloaded them or even knew they were there.
