AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Fourteen people have been arrested during a post-Super Bowl disturbance at the University of Massachusetts that took police in riot gear and smoke bombs to break up.
A university spokesman says those arrested after Sunday's game are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown on charges including failure to disperse and disorderly conduct. Thirteen of the 14 are students.
Their names are not expected to be released until their arraignments.
An estimated 1,500 peoples gathered in a common area of the Southwest residential area after the New York Giants 21-17 win over the New England Patriots.
There were some fistfights, but no one was hurt badly enough to be taken to a hospital and no property damage was reported.
