RI congressman makes friendly wager on Super Bowl

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - One of Rhode Island's Democratic congressmen has made a friendly Super Bowl bet with a Republican colleague from New York.

U.S. Rep. David Cicilline has made a wager with Congresswoman Nan Hayworth on the outcome of Sunday's match-up between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.

If the Patriots win, Hayworth will have to wear a Patriots jersey for a day on Capitol Hill. If the Giants prevail, it will be Cicilline wearing their colors in Washington.

Both lawmakers were talking trash on Friday, saying how much they were looking forward to seeing the other wear their team's jersey.

Cicilline and Hayworth are co-founders of the Common Ground Caucus, whose members attempt to build personal relationships with those in the opposing party in social settings.
