AMSTERDAM, N.Y. - The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says two people have been arrested on Tuesday after one man threatened his brother with a shotgun for not doing the dishes.
Deputies, along with members of the New York State
Police, responded to a call from 21-year-old Harold Lampkin Jr., of 154 Morris Road in Amsterdam, who stated that after he had not done the dishes by the time
his brother 19-year-old Adam Lampkin had told him, Adam threatened him with a shotgun and
ordered him to leave the house.
Officers say a physical fight
then ensued, during which Harold armed himself with a bolt-action rifle, which he
then threatened Adam with.
Finally, both
brothers engaged in a struggle over the bolt-action rifle, which resulted in
the rifle discharging a live round within the living room of the home.
Both Lampkin brothers were arrested and
arraigned in the Town of
Florida Court where they were remanded to the
Montgomery County Correctional Facility. They are charged with Menacing 2nd-degree and Reckless Endangerment 2nd-degree.
