BALLSTON SPA, N.Y.--Messy weather conditions in Saratoga County cause dozens of drivers to go off the road during Thursday night's winter storm.
What started off as a few flakes, turned into a slushy mess and then snow, coating the roads quickly, landing many cars in ditches.
A collision on East Line Rd. in Ballston Spa involved two drivers, but no one was seriously hurt.
While the sand and salt trucks were out tending to the roads, the slippery conditions continued to wreak havoc for those behind the wheel.
"It's been a pretty quiet winter so far," says Dennis Miranda of Ballston Lake. "This storm came as a surprise I think."
"People just have to go slow and pay attention to what they're doing," adds Dan Fourtin of Clifton Park. "It's upstate New York, it's expected."
