COLONIE, NY - Three people were arrested in Colonie after leading police on a car chase that ended with a crash on Saturday.
State police say three suspects stole merchandise from the Boscovs store in Clifton Park around 1:00 p.m. Store officials reported the larceny and provided a license plate for the vehicles the suspects left in. The car, which had been reported stolen in Albany, was spotted southbound on the Northway near Grooms Road.
Troopers confirm that it was a slow speed chase down the Northway. The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over. The
suspects got off at exit 6 and went on Troy-Schenectady Road. The car
accident happened at the intersection of Park Avenue on Route 2 when the car crashed into a guide rail.
Authorities then took the two men and one woman in custody. The passengers in the vehicle were 31-year-old Keith J. Brough of Albany and 41-year-old Kimberly Peters of Ballston Spa. Brough and Peters were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree.
The driver of the stolen vehicle was 45-year-old Freddie McRae of Albany. McRae was arrested for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, Resisting Arrest, and has outstanding bench warrants from the Town of Colonie and the NYS Division of Parole.
All three were arraigned in the Town of Colonie Court and remanded to the Albany County jail without bail.
