Lee inn owners face prostitution charges

Posted:

LEE, Mass. (AP) - Two western Massachusetts innkeepers have been charged with offering a little extra at their historic bed and breakfast.

Lee police said Thursday that the operators of The Inn at Laurel Lake in Lee were running a prostitution business out of the inn.

Police say 39-year old Tara Viola is charged with soliciting sexual favors for a fee. She and her husband, 47-year-old Thomas Fusco, are both charged with keeping house of ill fame and conspiring to promote prostitution.

Police say Viola advertised massage services on the Internet.

Police say they will be summoned to Southern Berkshire District Court at a later date to answer to the charges.

Fusco in a statement to The Berkshire Eagle denied the charges.

Fusco has owned the 130-year-old inn since 1996.
