ALBANY, NY - Mayor Jerry Jennings gave his State of the City address Thursday night, outlining his vision for the future of Albany. The speech was given inside the Common Council Chambers at City Hall.
Jennings spoke of the fiscal problems but focused on the accomplishments of the last year. He specifically thanked the police department for their hard work and efforts at community policing.
Mayor Jennings announced two new initiatives. First, a new strategic partnership with the Center of Technology in Government and the College of Computing and Information at UAlbany. They'll now work together to develop a roadmap for Albany to improve its technology needs and goals.
Mayor Jennings also announced the formation of a new committee that will be chaired by President Mark Sullivan and President George Philip. Their focus will be on creating a new world class high school, training teens for the job market.
