TROY, NY - A slew of charges filed against one defendant in the Troy ballot fraud case have been thrown out.
A judge dismissed 13 of the forgery counts against former Troy City Councilman Michael LoPorto.
The charges were tossed out after a motion by LoPorto's attorney. However, LoPorto still faces 29 other counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
His trial and that of co-defendant Edward McDonoug are set to begin next Tuesday.
