Five local Friendly's restaurants close

COLONIE, NY - A Friendly's restaurant spokesperson tells NEWS10 that five local Friendly's will close at the end of the business day on Sunday.

The chains thats will close are the Friendly's located on Central Avenue in Albany, Route 9 in Latham, Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham, Saratoga Road in Glenville, and the store located in Colonie Center mall in Colonie.

The company says it tried to work out lease agreements with several locations since filing Chapter 11 in October 2011.
