ALBANY, N.Y - The Troy teen shot and killed by Albany police was laid to rest Thursday afternoon.

Hundreds of people gathered at the funeral held at the Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church to morn the loss of 19-year-old Nah-Cream Moore. Moore was killed during a traffic stop on South Pearl Street a week ago.

The feeling of anguish was tangible; many saying they're still outraged about the shooting.

"I didn't even want to wake up today, this is a painful day," childhood friend of Moore Jahmeen Breland said.

"I made this the day he died; I couldn't even think straight," Lequanger Mon, a friend of Moore's said. Mon made a shirt with the Moore's picture and nickname "Ready Reem." "He'd give you the shirt off his back; he'd be ready to do anything for you, that's why we called him "Ready," Mon said.

Moore was shot and killed by Albany police officer Greg Mulligan after the car he was riding in was pulled over for a traffic stop. Police had been looking for Moore in relation to a Home Invasion they say happened earlier that day.

Police say there was a struggle after they asked Moore to get out of the car. That's when they say he reached for a gun. Police say Mulligan was forced to respond by firing three shots into Moore's chest.

Breland, Moore's childhood friend says he's not sure what happened the day of the shooting, he just wishes his friend was still here.

"I'm not really going to comment on it, I think it could have been prevented and use other tactics to disarm him or whatever the case may be," Breland said. "I hate going to funerals, we lost a lot of friends out here, I'm just sad it had to happen," Breland said.

Breland is one of several people at the funeral who said there's a problem with violence in the community. Just two blocks away from Moore's memorial on South Pearl Street; a second memorial sits for a friend Breland lost about 30 days before Moore was shot.

Also, on Mon's shirt was the picture of a friend he'd lost to a shooting in 2007.

"This isn't even enough to show how much I love him, but it's a way," Mon said.

An Albany County grand jury plans to investigate the officer involved shooting after reviewing surveillance video and interviewing dozens of witnesses.

Community leaders plan to meet to discuss Moore's death and how to stop the violence at the Center for Law and Justice at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
