Northern NY car crash leaves 2 dead, 2 hurt

CROWN POINT, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a car ran off a road into a stream in northern New York, killing the driver and a passenger and sending two other passengers to a hospital.

They say the Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 23-year-old Ryan Quigley of Ticonderoga rolled down an embankment and landed on its roof in the stream just before 1 a.m. Friday in Crown Point, 90 miles north of Albany.

Quigley and 19-year-old Tiffany Lang of Mineville were declared dead at the scene. Troopers say 21-year-old Christopher Gumlaw of Witherbee and 18-year-old Erin Ross of Crown Point were thrown out of the car from the back seat. They were taken to Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt. Their conditions aren't available.

State police are continuing their investigation of the accident.
