Mass. recalls cheese over possible contamination

Posted:

BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts health officials are urging consumers not to eat cheese under the brand Fromagerie Marie Kade because it may be contaminated with potentially fatal listeria.

The Canadian-made cheese was sold in markets in Norwood and Worcester and are stamped with the establishment number 1874.

No illnesses have been reported in Massachusetts in connection with the cheese.

The state Public Health Department points out that the cheese has not expired, so it may still be in some homes.

Consumers should discard the affected cheese.

Symptoms of listeria include fever, headaches, stiffness and diarrhea.
