Bennington Police: Woman claims she prostitutes to support drug habit

BENNINGTON, Vt. - Police in Bennington have arrested a woman at an area motel Monday evening who claimed she was a prostitute.

Bennington police say they arrested 32-year-old Marie Becker, of Rutland, after they responded to the Best Value Inn for a complaint.

Officers observed several used syringes inside the motel and subsequently located narcotics inside the motel room. Becker told officers she was a prostitute and was prostituting in order to support her drug habit.

Becker was cited to appear in Bennington District Court for a charge of possession of a narcotic on January 23, 2012.
