Albany airport rape and Walmart groping incidents not related

EAST GREENBUSH, NY - NEWS10 ABC has confirmed that the man arrested for raping a woman at the Albany airport parking lot is not the same man responsible for groping a woman at Walmart last week.

The victim in the Walmart case, who doesn't want to be identified, went to the East Greenbush Police Department around 3:30 P.M. Friday afternoon and looked at pictures. She said she was unable to identify the man who groped her.

There was speculation that Ryan Bentley who is already in jail on a number of felonies regarding the rape and assault at the Albany airport, could be the man responsible.

However it doesn't not appear he will be arrested for the groping crime. Police in East Greenbush still plan on questioning Bentley anyway.

The woman who was groped said she blames Walmart the most because they did not act quick enough after the crime occurred allowing the suspect to leave the store.

This is the second time in the past month a customer has been groped at that same East Greenbush Walmart.
