SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Schenectady Police Department is searching for two suspects involved in a double shooting on Thursday night.
The shootings happened at the intersection of Emmett Street and Steuben Street.
18-year-old Talib Farmer, of 880 Emmett Street, was struck once by birdshot with pellets hitting him from his head to his legs, police say. He was transported to Albany Medical Center where he is undergoing treatment for injuries that are not considered life threatening.
The second victim, 32-year-old Donna Perez, of 1707 Albany Street, was shot once in the abdomen and transported to Albany Medical Center. Her injuries are not considered life threatening.
Police say there is no known link between the two victims, they just happened to be in the same area when the shots were fired.
One possible suspect was detained at the scene Thursday night, however he was questioned and released without charges.
Police have no suspects in custody at this time and have spent the day Friday interviewing witnesses. They are not releasing any further details at this time.
