GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. - Gloversville Police arrested a man after stopping an
incoming package at the Gloversville Post Office addressed to him containing a
large quantity of marihuana.
28-year-old Bruce Morrison, of 8
Lexington Avenue in Gloversville, arrived to the post office at
4:50 p.m. on Friday, December 2, to pick up a package which had been shipped to
him from out of state.
However, the Gloversville Post Office had been alerted by investigators of
the USPS that the package contained a large quantity of marihuana.
Police officers from Gloversville and Johnstown, as well as
postal inspectors, waited at the post office for the package to be claimed by
Morrison, at which point he was detained and interviewed. After the interview
and receiving numerous tips, a search warrant was executed at his residence
where they found prescription pills, several bags of marihuana and 8.4 grams of
hasish.
The package stopped at the post office had 12.5 pounds of marihuana,
estimated to about $40,000.
Morrison is charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana 1st-degree,
Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 7th-degree, and Criminal
Possession of a weapon 4th-degree.
