Greene County Sheriffs arrest two on child abuse charges

NEW BALTIMORE, N.Y. - The Greene County Sheriff's Office arrested two New Baltimore residents following an investigation into the alleged child abuse of their 8-year-old child.

23-year-old Brett Carver and 26-year-old Shasta Phillips were arrested after officers received information that Carver occasionally abused the child while at their residence, at one time shooting the child with a BB gun in the leg as punishment.

Carver has been charged with Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Phillips has been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Both have been remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash or $6,000 bail bond.
