NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. – Police are investigating a murder that occurred shortly before 11:00 P.M. Saturday evening in North Greenbush.
Police responded to the home of Margaret Jordan at 432 Whiteview Road for a report of a gun shot with a wounded victim. Upon arrival, police encountered Rory T. Poulin, 56, and Jordan in the living room.
Jordan, 53, had no life signs and appeared to have been shot in the head. Poulin made statements to officers making it apparent that he was responsible for the woman's death.
Officers have responded to the residence in the past for reports of domestic problems. Poulin and Jordan had been in a long-term relationship.
An autopsy will be held on Monday.
Poulin was charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and was arraigned at North Greenbush Town Court at 9:15 A.M. Sunday morning.
Chief Rocco Fragomeni states, "There are many leads that need to be followed at this time. Investigators are establishing a time line of events leading up to the Murder."
