NEW LEBANON, N.Y. - A New Lebanon man and father of three was found dead in the kitchen after his home caught fire early Wednesday morning.
The Columbia County Fire Department was notified of the fire at 16 Lovers Lane around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Once firefighters were on the scene they found 30-year-old Adam Crowley on the floor in he kitchen. His live-in girlfried, Tara Darcy, had called 911 from a cell phone reporting the fire after jumping from the second floor of the home.
Darcy's brother, Andrew Darcy, who also lived in the home was able to escape the fire, as well.
Crowley was transported to the Berkshire Medical Center where he was prounced dead.
Investigators say the three children who live at the home were at a sleepover at a neighbor's home and were not harmed.
One responding firefighter, Aaron Sweet, was also taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
A family pet dog was located with burn injuries
and transported to a local veterinarian, it is believed other family pets
perished in the fire.
Investigators are saying the fire does not look suspicious.
