Saratoga County man accused of sexually assaulting 15-year-old released on bail
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. - A Clifton Park man accused of kidnapping and sexual assault pleaded not guilty and was released on bail after his appearance at the Saratoga County Courthouse Friday morning.
A grand jury handed up the indictment late Thursday against 21-year-old Eric Loeser, of Clifton Park, for his alleged involvement in an abduction and sexual assault of a resident from the Parsons Child and Family Center in Albany during the summer of 2011.
The judge decided to grant Loeser bail, and he was processed and released on $125,000 Friday morning. The prosecution fought the bail request, saying he is a flight risk.
Loeser and another man, 30-year-old Timothy Kaye, are accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old boy, who was off-campus at the time, and sexually assaulting him at a Saratoga County hotel.
Kaye is a former Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and Ballston Spa Police Dispatcher.
The prosecution in this case claims that Loeser and Kaye drove around with the 15-year-old boy for 19 days, taking him as far as Buffalo.
Both Kaye and Loeser were arrested for one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, a Felony, one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Felony.
At this point there's no information available on what relationship the two men had to the boy or how they were able to remove him from the Parsons site. Saratoga County's DA says they did take the boy without the facility knowing.
Loeser pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison.
