Schenectady man leads police chase after robbery

SCHENECTADY, NY (NEWS10) - A Schenectady man was arrested after stealing a car and initiating a car chase with police after a robbery.

Shortly after 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, police were notified of a robbery at the Embree Liquor Store located at 3673 State Hwy 30 in the Town of Mayfield.

Police located the stolen vehicle and suspect from the robbery on State Rte 30 in the Town of Johnstown.

The 36-year-old suspect, Jason Tyndall, did not stop for police. Police started to chase his vehicle near the Montgomery County/Schenectady County line and continued into Schenectady County. The chase was terminated on I-890 in the Town of Rotterdam after Tyndall struck three State Police cars and came to a stop into the guard rail.

Tyndall was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Reckless Endangerment, Unlawfully Fleeing Police, and several vehicle and traffic charges.
