NEW YORK (AP) - An unusual early-autumn nor'easter is bringing a mix of snow, rain and slush to parts of New York.
The bad weather made for sheer misery at the Occupy Wall Street encampment in New York City, where drenched protesters hunkered down in tents and under tarps as the plaza filled with rainwater and melted snow.
Technically, tents are banned in the park. But police lately have stopped enforcing the restriction.
In the city's suburbs and Hudson Valley, the storm knocked down some tree branches and was responsible for sporadic power outages.
Only an inch or two was expected along the coast, with between six and 12 inches in the Catskills, and three to six inches around Albany.
