ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- The United States Postal Service has temporarily closed the Fort Hunter post office on Main Street in the Montgomery County hamlet due to damage caused by tropical storms Irene and Lee.
Customers who use this office will now have to use the Amsterdam location, on 10 Church Street, for the time being.
The USPS says there is no definite timetable on when the Fort Hunter office will be back open, "due in part to the ongoing recovery efforts in the area."
Three other offices, all in New York's Southern Tier, have also been temporarily closed because of flood damage.
