Albany shooting victim in critical condition, police looking for suspect


ALBANY, N.Y. - A man that was shot multiple times on South Pearl Street in Albany Thursday night is in critical condition on Friday.

Officers responded to the area of 427 South Pearl St. where witnesses reported a shooting at approximately 12:13pm, however both the victim and suspect were gone when police arrived.

Witnesses told police the suspect fired multiple shots at the victim and ran towards Citgo Gas Station on South Pearl St.

The victim, 42-year-old Naji Stratton, was taken to Albany Medical Center by a friend with gunshot wounds to his head, neck and shoulder. He went into immediate surgery and is currently in critical condition.

The suspect was described as a black male dressed in all black. He was last seen running westbound on Second Street.

The investigation is continuing.
