ALBANY, N.Y. - A shooting in Albany sent one man to the hospital after being shot several times Wednesday morning.
Police say the shooting happened around 10:45 a.m. at 271 Second Street. An officer on patrol in the area was alerted to the incident by a witness.
The officer found the victim on Second Street. He was conscious and responsive but had two gun shots in his torso and was rushed to Albany Medical Center.
The victim was identified as 21-year-old Dejon Robinson of Green Street.
Robinson's condition is unknown at this time.
Police on the scene say they heard another shot fired around 11:20 a.m. near Judson and Second Street.
Police saw a male inside a SUV with a handgun and pursued him for a short while into the area of Lincoln Avenue when two people abandonded the vehicle.
Kolby Martin and Eddie Peebles were arrested after officers chased them on foot.
Martin sustained two broken ankles as a result of a fall while attempting to run from the officers. He was taken to St. Peter's for treatment.
Officers recovered two handguns during the investigation.
It is not clear at this time if both incidents are related.
