SALEM, N.Y. (WTEN) - A sixth victim has died from the house explosion in Salem last Wednesday.
The New York State Police at Greenwich reported that 20-year-old Darrell Durham passed away, succumbing to injuries caused by the house explosion.
Durham was being treated at the Burn Unit of the Westchester Medical Center.
The explosion occurred at a home located at 4372 Route 29 near the intersection at Route 22. Three people died in the explosion: 41-year-old Tammy Palmer, 19-year-old Lawrence Berg Jr., 16-year-old Robert Sanford, all whom lived in the residence. A fourth person, 19-year-old Clarissa Lyn Porlier, died after succumbing to her injuries in the hospital late Wednesday night, and a fifth person, 2-month-old Niyah Lynn Durham, died Thursday afternoon.
Five others have been left with serious injuries.
Police in Washington County say they believe the incident was caused by a gas explosion.
