UPDATE (11:35 p.m.): GILSUM, N.H. (WTEN) -- Around 9 p.m. Wednesday night, state police in New Hampshire announced that they had located and recovered 4-month old Raymond Slocum and his 25-year old mother, Lorette Colgrove, safe and unharmed, cancelling an AMBER Alert and a multi-state hunt that began in Washington County.
About an hour later, the man at the center of the hunt, 23-year old Matthew Slocum, surrendered himself peacefully.
All three were found in the town of Gilsum after a day long search in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York.
Police now want to speak with Slocum in connection with the fire in White Creek where three people were found dead early Wednesday morning.
UPDATE (6:50p.m.): The 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Matthew Slocum has been located unoccupied in Gilsum, New Hampshire. The AMBER Alert remains active, as authorities are still looking for Slocum, his girlfriend Loretta Colegrove, and their 4-month old son, Raymond Slocum.
WHITE CREEK, N.Y. - An AMBER Alert has been issued by the Washington County Sheriff's Office due to a child abduction on Wednesday, July 13th, at 1:42 p.m.
It is confirmed that 4-month-old Raymond Slocum was abducted on Turnpike Road in White Creek, N.Y. Raymond is a white male, approximately 23 inches and 20 lbs.
The suspect is his father 23-year-old Matthew Slocum, who fled the scene of a suspicious fire leaving three people dead in White Creek. He is armed with firearms, and is holding the child and the child's mother Loretta Colegrove against their will. He has brown hair, brown eyes, is about 5'10'' and 195 lbs.
His car is a black 2-door Ford Mustang with NY license plate DED1769. He was reported to be in Adams, Mass. Wednesday morning, but police working on this case confirmed that his Slocum's car was last seen in New Hampshire. They followed him to a logging area in NH, but Slocum car was able to evade police.
