Former Albany police officer Lutz fired

ALBANY, N.Y. - It was announced that former Albany Police Officer Brian Lutz was terminated from the Albany  P.D. on Tuesday.

Albany Police Chief Steven Krokoff announced Lutz's employment termination of former officer Brian Lutz from the ranks of the Albany Police Department. Lutz was given the opportunity to provide proof that he is currently legally permitted to operate a motor vehicle in the State of New York. However, Lutz failed to provide proof to the Chief Krokoff, and as a result does not currently possess a valid drivers license.

Lutz fails to meet the critically important minimum qualifications of a police officer in the City of Albany, and therefore has been terminated.

Lutz was suspended from the Albany police force after he was arrested for DWI last December.
