QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) - A Warren County grand jury has indicted a dance school teacher on charges of repeatedly sexually abusing a student from the time he was 6 until he was 12, allegedly between 1998 and 2005.
Prosecutors say they have heard from four other men who claim they also were victimized as children by 49-year-old Timothy McGuire, who has run a dance studio in Glens Falls, the Tim McGuire Dance Studio, for 30 years. It remains open, though according to Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan they are beyond the statute of limitations, meaning the allegations are too old to prosecute.
McGuire is scheduled for arraignment at 11 a.m. Wednesday on felony charges of sexual conduct against a child.
McGuire, who's free on bail, could face up to 7 years in state prison if found guilty.
His lawyer, Tucker Stanclift, tells the Glens Falls Post-Star that McGuire will plead not guilty and "adamantly denies" the allegations.
