MONTGOMERY, N.Y.-- After a two month long investigation conducted by several offices, numerous arrests were made in a drug case on Friday.
According to police, this cooperative investigation resulted in the seizure of over five ounces of marijuana, and 63 bags of heroin, all of which were packaged for sale. Several hundred dollars, alleged to be profits from the sale of drugs, were also seized.
Daniel Battisti, 25 and of Canajoharie, and Joseph Kucharski, 21 and of Palatine, as well as the four other individuals have been arrested.
Battisti has been charged for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of Marijuana, where as Kucharski has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Numerous Traffic Tickets.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, United States Probation Office and the Canajoharie Police Department conducted the search.
Battisti and Kucharski were processed and arraigned in the Town of Minden Court, and both were remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $25,000 and $15,000 cash bail.
The four other people were arrested for the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and were released with appearance tickets.
