AMSTERDAM, N.Y. - A Montgomery County firefighter has been arrested on child pornography charges.
31-year-old Randolph Billington, of Amsterdam, was found to have been looking at child pornography at the fire house. After investigation, he was arrested for Possession of an Obscene Sexual Performance of a Child, a felony.
Police were led to investigate Billington afterthe Fort Johnson Fire Chief, Audie Miller, found the illegal pictures on the station's computer and contacted the State Police in Fonda to investigate. State Police took possession of the computer and requested their Computer Crimes Unit to forensically examine it, finding images depicting sexual performances of children.
Billington was arraigned and remanded to Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $5000 bail.
