ALBANY, N.Y.-- A woman who has been accused of stealing taxpayer money in December was back in court on Monday.
Angela Lopez ripped off the system of nearly $100,000 when she received welfare while she allegedly brought in a paycheck and disability benefits.
The court put off the decision of whether or not to use a statement that Lopez gave to a Social Services investigator in court. However, sources told News 10 that there is a deal on the table that involves a plea of two and a half to seven years in prison plus restitution of the nearly $100,000. If she doesn't take it, she faces a maximum of seven to twenty years if convicted of all counts.
