Bank robbed in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. - Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on Route 30 in the Town of Amsterdam at 9:14 a.m. this morning.

The robbery was committed by a male suspect who walked into the bank, and displayed a hand gun when he approached the bank teller.

The suspect verbally demanded money, and was handed an undetermined amount of cash before exiting the bank.

The robber left the bank on foot and in an unknown direction of travel. He is described as tall, approximately 6' 1" or 6' 2", medium build, with the following clothing - dark colored hooded sweatshirt, with a brimmed hat, sunglasses, white gloves and a white surgical mask, wearing sneakers and light colored pants.
