Siena hires Jamion Christian as men's basketball coach

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) - A source close to the situation has confirmed that Siena College has hired Jamion Christian as their new men's basketball coach.

Christian comes from Mount Saint Mary's University where he has been the head coach since March 2012.

Christian led the Mountaineers to two NCAA tournament appearances in his time as head coach with Mount Saint Mary's University.

He replaces Jimmy Patsos, who resigned amidst a college investigation into alleged verbal and physical abuse of team members and possible misuse of per diem payments.

Siena Athletic director John D'argenio said recently that they were looking for a coach with "an experience like Siena."

Christian has his work cut out for him as Siena is coming off of its worst seasons in program history with a record of 8-24, and many players have already been granted transfer releases.
