ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) - Albany police are investigating a series of car larcenies that occurred over the past couple of weeks.
27 vehicles were broken into between June 27th and July 3rd around the city of Albany around the Pine Hills and Helderberg areas. Most of the larcenies have occurred overnight and have targeted electronics, usually GPS systems.
Suspects got into the cars by breaking a window, or because the car was unlocked.
The Albany Police Department is warning people around the city to lock their cars, do not leave anything valuable in the car, use safety measures (i.e. activate alarm systems), park in a well lighted area, and report any activity.
